Oban derives it’s name from “an t-Ã’ban” which in Scottish Gaelic means “The Little Bay”.

During The Second World War, Oban was a bustling port used by merchant & Royal Navy ships. The port played a big role during the war itself but today there is only one surviving air raid shelter in the centre of Oban.
